Just as with the Preciosa Czech Crystal Rhinestones, the process of foiling is used on the glass cabochons. Foiling is the application of a mirror layer to the bottom of the stone to obtain maximum brilliance. With these stones a Gold Foiling is used: A silver mirror is coated with a protective layer of lacquer with a bronze pigment.
